Planning approval for mixed-use scheme in Kentish Town

Mountford Pigott is pleased to announce that following a five-day Planning Inquiry in May of this year, the Planning Inspectorate has upheld Big Yellow’s Appeal and granted consent for a new 6,500m² self-storage facility with flexi-offices in Regis Road, Kentish Town. This sustainable, five-storey development replaces an outdated, vacant 1980s warehouse and forms part of a larger masterplan for the area as set out in the Kentish Town Framework. The masterplan seeks to intensify employment in localised zones while also freeing up land for a new residential neighbourhood.  The new Big Yellow facility, will help to achieve those ambitions with its facilities for business users – especially small businesses. The integral flexi-offices not only provide ideal space for start-ups and SMEs but also provide active frontage along Regis Road, which will form a new civic spine leading to the new residential neighbourhood.  The enhanced landscape zone along the spine route will improve the local environment for pedestrians as well as increasing biodiversity.

We look forward to developing the construction design in due course.
